At your consultation, Dr. Taylor will begin by taking a digital scan of your mouth, using the iTero® Scanner that will create a 3D replica of your teeth. With this image, he will actually be able to show you how your teeth will look after the process! We will then send these images to Invisalign to create a series of custom-made “trays” that will gently move your teeth into the desired position as you change them out.
Invisalign is slightly more expensive than traditional braces, but it is not possible to determine the exact cost until you have a complete exam to determine the severity of your individual case, and the length of treatment that will be required. The aligners are very easy to care for but remember they are clear plastic, so you will want to take extra care when cleaning them. The aligners should be cleaned every time you take them out, such as when eating and drinking or when brushing and flossing. It is recommended that you clean the aligners with antibacterial soap and a soft toothbrush. It is best if you have a designated soft toothbrush for the aligners, NOT the one you brush your teeth with. If brushing the aligners is not possible in certain settings, then they should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. You do not want to use harsh cleaners containing strong scents or dyes, as these will cause the plastic to scratch or stain. It is also recommended that the aligners be soaked once per day in denture cleaner or Invisalign Crystals. An ideal time to do that would be when you have them out while enjoying a meal.

Dr. Taylor grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s School of Dentistry. There, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2005, graduating with distinction. During his four years of Dental School, Dr. Taylor was awarded many distinctions, which are listed below.
Following his dental training, Dr. Taylor did his orthodontic residency at the Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. There, he earned his certificate in Orthodontics in 2007. Concurrently, he completed a Master of Science (MS) for his research in decalcification during orthodontic treatment. During this same year, the American Association of Orthodontists’ Annual Session selected Dr. Taylor’s research for presentation.
